5 Financial Hosted Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea

Last week, the 5 Financial team hosted Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. This is Cancer Council's national fundraiser supporting research, prevention, and patient services. The morning was generous, warm, and full of stories that reminded us why awareness and action matter.

Cancer doesn’t wait for a convenient time. It doesn’t check your schedule, your plans, or your postcode. Almost one in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before they turn 85. That means every one of us, whether it’s a parent, a partner, a colleague, or a close friend, has been touched by this disease in some way.

Our team has seen the toll cancer takes on the people we care about, both inside and outside the office. It’s why, when the opportunity came to host Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea last week, we didn’t think twice.

A Morning That Meant Something

For those unfamiliar, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is the Cancer Council’s flagship fundraising event. Every year, thousands of homes, offices, and community groups across the country come together over a cuppa and a cause. The funds raised go directly toward cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for patients and their families.

In our office, the table was packed, the conversations were real, and the generosity from everyone who came through was remarkable.

Why It Matters to Us

We’re a financial advice firm, that’s what we do every day. But the reason we exist goes deeper than financial plans and portfolios. We believe that when people feel clear and supported, life genuinely feels better. That belief doesn’t stop at money.

Raising awareness for cancer research, contributing to prevention programs, and supporting the people around you through tough times. That’s part of showing up for our community in a way that means something.

This Was Just the Beginning
